YeoL Yangyang Hwagwan Exhibition
This exhibition commemorates the retirement of Professor Sung Hye Jung, the fourth-generation descendant of the renowned modern Korean painter Sim Jeon Ahn Jung-sik. Alongside works inspired by 18th- and 19th-century Korean folk paintings, gyubang (women's quarters) arts, and traditional sculptural aesthetics—hallmarks of HYE—the exhibition also presents contemporary reinterpretations of Sim Jeon's paintings and calligraphy, creating a dialogue between Korea's artistic heritage and modern design.
Yangyang Hwagwan embodies the shared vision of Professor Sung Hye Jung and HYE: to carry forward Sim Jeon's aspiration of fostering a dialogue between Eastern and Western art. Inspired by the beauty of Korean tradition, HYE's signature scarf designs extend beyond fashion into a diverse range of lifestyle objects, embracing the ambition of shaping a contemporary K-lifestyle rooted in Korean cultural heritage.
