Shim jeon’s 'Dowonhangjudo' depicts a fisherman arriving at the entrance of a peach blossom-filled Towon by boat, as described in Dowohwangi. The composition is densely layered with overlapping mountains and scenery, and the decorative style enhanced by vivid colors reflects the ornamental tendencies of the widely popular late Qing “Sawang” painting style.
We have remade Ahn Jung-sik’s Dowonhangjudo (1915) and Dowonmunjindo (1913) and collaborated with the existing Chilbo-patterned HYE scarves to create a new framed scarf collection. The scene of the fisherman rowing the boat is heartwarming, and the densely layered mountains filled with blooming peach blossoms from early 20th-century Shim Jeon’s paintings can now be enjoyed as a 21st-century scarf and art frame.
